I'm a little bummed that the new htc devices lack the standard 2.5mm stereo jack.
how annoying is the new usb port to use with an adaptor for headphones?

I have plenty of 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptors that I use to plug headphones into my wizard and tornado, but I can't imagine the usb port would be as convinient an adaptor. What to you guys that have it think? does the usb port make it annoying to use as an mp3 player?

can someone post some pics of what it looks like plugging headphones into a usb adaptor? is it as bad as I'm picturing?

It's more annoying, especially since it puts twice the wear on the port, but it's not that bad when on.

The USB audio gets to me as well. I use a Bluetooth headset now, but it sounds all crackly!

I actually have a BT stereo headset adaptor (with a 3.5mm plug- the i.tech R35), but I find that its too much of a hassle for things like plugging into the car stereo or playing over my home speaker system. This is mostly due to the fact that it not only drains more power from the phone, but I also have to keep the headset adaptor charged as well. Its one more device to take care of, and that's assuming that the quality will be comparable to a wired headset!

It also tends to have a delay/lag, which is apparent when watching video (lips out of synch).

JWY, thanks for the pic. I'd like to see a whole setup, if possible (ie, phone, adaptor, and headphones- just to get an idea of how it looks with all the peices put together. I imagine it worse than just the adaptor as shown).
