Go to Edit, then Settings. 4) In the drop down list for Phone Type, choose Other CDMA Phone ![]() 5) Click on Browse next to Com Port, and choose "Motorola USB Modem" ![]() 6) Click OK, and OK, and get back to the main screen. Then click the View menu, then View Filesystem. A new option in the right pane will appear that says Filesystem. Click That. 7) Click the + sign in the pane to the right. After a few minutes of it saying "Retrieving" a bunch of folfers should appear. This is the phones filesystem. In here are java apps, themes, ringtones, startup tones and pictures, etc. etc. etc. Here is a brief list of some of the folders in here and what they are: mmc1: This is your transflash card brew/mod/camera/sounds: shutter sounds brew/mod/camera/funframes/(low,medium,high): different resolution fun frames brew/mod/obione/stk/cache/: web cache motorola/: all of the content will be stored within this folder motorola/preload/: all the preloaded content of the phone motorola/shared/jas/content/: all your downloaded games, wallpapers, themes, etc. There more in there, and I will post tutorials on more things, but for now that should get everyone started. Have fun. |

I wanted to delete some of the stock ringtones to free up memory, but it says "Access to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider." Any way around this? |

Check out this thread: http://www.insiderforums.com/forums...ead.php?t=20115 I haven't tried this yet but it seems to make alot of sense and I did get into my BitPim to see what was being described. Meaning it may be possible to not get an access denied error doing it this way because it appears to allow the phone software to do its own internal thing once you follow the directions and restart, where it would move the files to the denied spots or delete them as long as they are removed from the location shown in the thread. Not sure what happens to the numbering if you do delete from there (again if this is works). There seems to be a little .dat file there that probably keeps track of the numbered files and may renumber, but I'm not sure... Anyway, if you're game, give it a shot. ![]() |

I expect there is a way though... Will keep hunting.

Didn't even have to move it to the phone or anything. Don't know how long that will stay assigned (I have read of people assigning home-made ringers that eventually stopped working when someone called but I'll see...
