V3XX contact/email question

I noticed on my V3XX that when I added an email address to a phone contact that when I text that person by selecting them from the phonebook that it defaults to their email address whereas all others default to phone #. Is there a way to change this to default to the #?

You can select a phone number or email address as the primary contact for that person. When you choose Show Primary Contact, that number or email address will show first when you select that name.

Since this phone has a different user interface from the traditional V3, see whether you are given that option when within the address book. I do not have a model to check and the manual is not very detailed.
