The Nokia 6610 is a GSM phone, these codes are meant only for TDMA phones.

Posted by: frail

For CDMA Nokias:

*#837# lets you check your PRL and software version. Also *#639# will allow you to manually program your phone with the MIN and SID.

*#7780# Will restore factory settings.
*#7370# - Full factory reset. Resets all settings including non-user changeable items. **WARNING** - This will render your phone inoperable. Only use if you don't plan on using your phone anymore and just want to wipe it out. On some newer CDMA Nokias this code does not work but I still advise against trying it unless you want to chance not being able to use your phone anymore.

Which code are you looking for other than the regular GSM codes?

Why isn't there a link on the main page with an unlocking calculator?

Because it's a board rule that there are no unlocking discussions. There are board advertisers who will do unlocks. If you want unlocking information you'll have to look elsewhere. Sorry, but that's the way it is here. Believe me it's not hard to find the information. I told you how to go about finding the information. It's up to you to take the initiative to find it.

Posted by: reonx

Well I did my research on google when I wanted to unlock my nokia 3595 and I found the calculator easily.

And btw, if you call rogers, they might do it for you but they will charge you 250$ for it. That's ROBBERS rules.

Why are they charging? Well the reason why you are unlocking your phone is that you would want to use it with another provider. So that's the fees for leaving them.

250$ - by rogers
free - searching it on google.

Make your choice.

This is a forum. It's not an unlocking forum. Why is it so hard for you to understand and see that if you don't find the information you want here that you'll go to where you can find the information? The information is readily available and easy to find. Just because you don't find that information here doesn't mean that this is not a forum. There are lots of places and many forums where you can find the information. All you have to do is make a little effort and find that information! Spending five seconds at google will find exactly what you're looking for! Go there and look!

every forums has rules...i don't understand it either, but those who own the forums can do what they want with them...unfortunately, i can't get to my forums right now... hackers destroyed them! WAAA!!!

One thing I will tell you, it can be possible to rally mess up your phone if you toil with the Service Programming stuff. I can't exactly tell you what it does though...help this guy out someone...

You have a GSM handset. That code is for CDMA and TDMA phones only.

To change the operator logo (alpha tag is on TDMA and CDMA phones) you need to use a data cable and software such as Logomanager, Logoexpress or Oxygen Phone Manager. You can then upload a 14 X 72 pixel .bmp or .nol file to your phone.

I'm using a Nokia 2280 CDMA and I don't have any data cable. First of all I'd like to know how can I cnstruct one data cable by myself and where will I get necessary softwares to get that work.

Actually I need to bypass the Service Programming Code (SPC) so that I might change my mobile ID and leach into some one else's account.

Also, is it possible to use a GSM SIM in Nokia 2280 some how?

Please help me guys..............

all all Well My take on these codes is this......... *#639# was the first one that I used on My new 'lil Nokia 3586i/Bell Mobility, it killed my web browser, cuz I didn't have a security code!!! That was NOT quite enough FUN for this Guy!!, so I proceeded to enter the, *3001#12345#, which also works for the phone.............. BUT........... now the phone matches the browser, N.F.G.! NOTHING WORKS!! Pretty soon, I might have to send the phone/paper-weight away to be fixed by Somebody, waaaaay better than Me, at phone fixing, IF THAT'S POSSIBLE!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR.......... Moral of My story is be CAREFUL what You punch into Your Phone!!! Mine is 3 weeks old, and I have Not been able to use it for almost a week now!!

Maybe you should tell what you were trying to do that you got into this trouble. I'm not quite sure why anyone would randomly punch in codes into their phone especially if they didn't have any idea what the codes are supposed to do! Am I missing something here?

Posted by: radrob12000

I was trying to unlock my color phone, that only shows black & white pics., not realizing that if I punched in that particular code, that I would have to have a security code, or My phone would go PPFFFFFFFFT!!! So, I don't know, ARE YOU MISSING SOMETHING?[B][I][SIZE=3][FONT=courier new][COLOR=red]

That is a TDMA/CDMA code. I don't believe anyone other than a Nokia service center can activate field test.

Posted by: pigdog

HELLO
I am using the NOKIA 5120I and have tryed guessing my Lock code until it came up with the security code. I then tyed guessing the security code but nothing untill i found out about the *3001#12345# trick and tryed that thinking it would work. I followed the steps thinking it would work i changed to security code back to 12345 then powered off the phone and entered 12345 and it said code error no matter wat i change the security code to they just dont seem to work! Is my phone stuffed or is their some other error i need to fix?

Posted by: cerver7

why do you not know your security code...????...

did you steal this phone? i hope not.

explain yourself....(your story on how it got locked and you forgot)

Posted by: pigdog

i did not steal the phone it is mine.
I use a Nokia 2280 and i havent used the nokia 5120I in ages and i forgot my Lock code i tryed all my old ones but they didnt work. Then the security code thing came up so i done the *3001 thiny and it said the code was 12345 but when i enter that it doesnt work. Why does it work is it because i havent used my phone in ages or is the phone just stuffed?

Posted by: cerver7

12345 maybe your security code.....but i think you have the pin request code on. its not your sec. code....its differnt. the only thing i could say to do in that situation, is get the phone flashed. nokia used to do it...but they stopped doing it. try asking your provider.....try searchin hofo...try searching google.

Posted by: z3phyr04

I think your phone is now asking for the PUK code - if you enter that 10 times wrongly your phone will have to be taken to your provider or Nokia for fixing.

Posted by: cerver7

puk...?

Posted by: Oleg-Realtor

I have turned the fieldtest on (Nokia 6360, TDMA) and I have got the following:

21-01
-65 240 1
a670 2 @
CAMPING
DCCH

-65 must be signal strength (its already -71), what's the other stuff mean, especially CAMPING?

Hard to explain. It allows u to see what tower your currently on and the strengh of the singal, how much power is left in your battery and a bunch of outher stuff.

Posted by: Mrcub1

First off, I apoligize if this is posted in the wrong thread, but I couldn't figure out how to make a new one, and I couldn't find one that really applied.

I've searched the threads hi and low and haven't been able to come up with a concrete answer for this one, so I figured I'd ask.

Is the Nokia 2285 CDMA or is it SIM? Some of the SIM codes work, and it has a slot for a SIM Card, but I can't get it to read my card, or change the operator text of the previous cell provider. I picked this phone up really cheap and it's in great condition, so I'd like to use it with my T-Mobile Sim Card if possible. I appreciate any responses. Thanx

Posted by: TriBand81

The 2285 is a CDMA phone. The reason why you have a SIM slot on your phone is because the 2285 is also available in Asia where some CDMA providers support the use of {R-UIM} cards. None of the US CDMA providers supports the use of these {R-UIM}.

You couldn't use it with T-Mobile since the 2285 is CDMA and you need a GSM phone (with GSM 1900) in order to use T-Mobile .

Posted by: Mrcub1

Thanx, that's all I needed to know

I have a nokia 3590 here i took from a customer. I need the security code on the phone. Is there any way i can get it or reset it or something?

Posted by: TriBand81

Have you tried 12345? Otherwise the only fix is a firmware reflash.

Posted by: Jovian

yeah ive tried that. What do i need to reflash this phone?

Posted by: TriBand81

Any authorized Nokia dealer or Nokia service center will only be able to do this. They have the flash box and firmware files needed to reflash the phone. A few dealers in the HoFo Marketplace offer this service as well.

Posted by: lega

Yes, almost everyone can do it. But the price is about 20$. Right ?

Posted by: TriBand81

Quote:

That depends on who you go to. Some places may do it for less. The Marketplace here on HoFo may provide a price range.

Posted by: lega

Yes, sure.

But the conclusion is that it is really not expensive.

Posted by: TriBand81

Unlock codes are calculated by IMEI # so no one here can give you the codes. It's also a good idea not to post your IMEI here in the forum.

I have a Nokia 1221 prepaid Tracfone.Several menu options described in the instruction booklet DO NOT appear on my phone, probably due to OTA programming.Example, welcome note - Not there-but is supposed to be.Another example-menu 8-6 which says redeem airtime. That option was NOT there when I first programmed the phone, but IS now. This must have been done OTA.-Is there a way to get these "hidden" options to appear ???

Posted by: TriBand81

Nope, the problem with Tracfone is that they have their customized Nokia firmware which prevents you from making hidden menus reappear. The regular solution of flashing Nokias with generic, OEM Nokia firmware will not work due to Tracfone's phones being set up to accept only Tracfone's firmware versions. You should ask in the main Nokia forum as this question has been discussed from time to time.

Nope, if an incoming call is displayed as "Private", then it means that the number/Caller ID/CLIP info isn't being transmitted with the call so you can't block it. The problem is that the person doesn't have Caller ID activated or they blocked it from their end.

Posted by: jenneki

i don't know anything about codes or developing solutions or anything like that. i'm just your normal everyday gsm user. howver i recently tried to download a java application called iLock on my (3650) phone and i was told that it was corrupt. since then, i have not been able to open my applications folder, i cannot delete it!
i tried to use fileman (another verion of FEexplorer) to remove the application, but i was told that the application had an ivalid name. meanwhile, the name just looks like a bunch of codes. attempting to change the name leads to a systems error msg. really do not know what to do. i am sure its a virus, but i do not know how to GET it OFF my phone
could anyone of you GURUS help me PLEASE

Posted by: TriBand81

Sounds like a Master Reset or a firmware reflash are your only viable options. Look in my sig for the Reset Codes thread. Be sure to pay attention to the warnings associated with a Master Reset.

Posted by: jenneki

thanks for the reply. thing is, i'm in africa. according to the info i gathered in your sig, the codes are regional. how do i reset the codes if in africa? another thing is, the corrupt file is in m memory card not my phone memory. do the codes clear the memory card?

Posted by: TriBand81

I don't see how that's possible. An MMC card isn't region dependent nor is the reset code for a Nokia phone made for North America, Europe, Asia or Africa. Nokia uses the same sequence (might differ from series to series but not from handset to handset) for Master Reset options.

Series 40 phones cannot be reset with the *#7370# code, *#7780# is the only code that works as a factory reset (not a complete reset since the internal memory isn't wiped (again this might differ for each Nokia series)).

*#7370# only works with Series 60 phones. As for the MMC card, it is not affected by a Master Reset. You may need to have at a thread like this one here:

http://www.n-gage-help.com/modules....5500&highlight=
http://www.n-gage-help.com/modules....viewtopic&t=848
http://www.n-gage-help.com/modules....p=getit&lid=120 (7Tools may work if MMC Medic doesn't work for you)

Good Luck

First, soliciting Nokia proprietary service software is a violation of the rules here as well as a legal matter from the perspective of Nokia. Sure there are many "warez" sites or "hacking" forums would offer direction or even free access to those.

Second, discussion of free unlocking is also not allowed here as a conflict of interest against our paid advertisers / sponsors. Sure, it is quite different from GSM, but if it is still about free unlocling, please take it elsewhere.

Google them if you want. But, please do not further discuss it here in HoFo. Okay

Posted by: realtronics

Please accept my apologies - I'm new at this and I certainly did not mean to break the rules.

What do you mean by system code? It sounds like you're in a GSM area run by Alltel through its Western Wireless acquisition. Try asking in the Alltel forum:

hi there i have a nokia 6225 ex-orange (i restored factory default setting so i presume its unlocked now)
i have entered in the spc and a-key that orange gave me.
they have also gave me a esn number so how do i enter that into the phone?
also the telstra setting for there cdma network would be much appreciated.
thankyou.

Posted by: TriBand81

Try asking in a CDMA forum such as the Verizon Phones forum since most users here in the Nokia forum are GSM users.

Posted by: notto

ok thx for that.

Request the unlock code from T-Mobile or have it unlocked by a dealer (a local shop or a dealer in the Marketplace for example).

I recently sold a 6800 Nokia to someone who had no idea what they were doing. She locked the phone and it is now asking for a PUK Code. I need to reset the phone as well as "unlock" it so she can use it with Cingular as I originally used this phone on an AT&T network. Does anyone know how to help me? Thanks.

Contact Cingular for the situation.

I have a nokia 6255i cdma cell phone that I need to find out what service provider has the phone locked. There isn't any markings or anything on the screen it only say roaming. Can someone tell me how to ID this phone service provider

Posted by: TriBand81

You could identify the provider through the PRL number being used. The PRL is the protocol used by CDMA networks to keep track of the preferred networks to roam on.

Have looked at the current codes to play with on a Nokia phone (5110).
As you can find programs like Gnokii and Gumma, that you can send text to the cellphone, either to go throught the menus and/or show a hidden code.

With some codes that may not work, you end up with characters on the cellphone screen. I want to know if it is possible, to send a code to clear the text that you have just entered, just like the 'C' (Clear) button does, one press deletes the character before the cursor, hold it down and the screen clears.

Thank you,
Will

How do I unlock my Nokia 6255i?

Posted by: mcopley

how do i get the prl and how can i tell if my phone is locked or unlocked

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

dvaka and mcopley: Most CDMA providers've locked their phones by using SPC (Service Provider Code / Service Programming Code), MSL (Master Subsidy Lock) or SPL (Service Provider Lock). Read more about SPC at http://www.bridog.net/cellular/msl.txt

To verify if the SPC is in placed for your Nokia CDMA phones, enter *3001#12345# for NAM programming menu. Then scroll to the item about SPC. If you can change the SPC by entering the current one as 000000, then it's unlocked. However, if it's locked, it'll prompt you with an error. DON'T try or guess it too many times because it'll not let you to try further if you continuously enter the wrong SPC several times. Please also note that there's another "lock code" for Nokia CDMA phones: XTKSL (X-time Keypad Service Lock).

For the PRL (Preferred Roaming List), read more about it at http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...2906#post662906

Okay, please stop asking for the specific SPC to unlock your phones because it could be totally random or some algorithms used by you providers. And, it's in the same nature as unlocking GSM discussion, which is NOT allowed http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=857203

do you know how to reformat 2650 fliphone tnx

Posted by: TriBand81

The 2650 should take the regular *#7780# code. What happens if you enter it when the phone is in standby?

So if I go with the Full factory reset, it means it'll all go back as the way it was? My phone is from another country and my bro just sent it to me. I received it and it was able to recognize the network in my coutry. Would Full factory reset return the phone into its default character like it can only be used in the country where it came from?

Thanks

I tried to lock my key pad by using one of the two default security codes (1234 or the last 4 of my phone number). Neither worked. Is there any way to reset the security code so that I can lock my keypad?

whats the code to format a 7610 nokia?

Posted by: vroomx2

My Nokia 6015i is not letting me accept the changes. I can enter in *#7780# and it asks for the security code, which I know is 12345, but it always tells me it's invalid. I got into the master settings by using the code in the first post and confirmed that 12345 was the security code.

If you want to wipe your personal data without bricking the phone, you'll have to go into your Contacts Menu and manually erase your contacts one by one or by using the Delete All or Erase All function. Then #*639# and change your phone number to all zeros. If you get prompted for a code and don't know it (on the post-pay Verizon 6015i it's 000000), you won't be able to change your NAM.

It's probably asking for the Master Subsidy Lock which is a 6 digit lock set by the provider and is different than the phone's security code.

So am I stuck unless I visit the provider?

Posted by: Moderator HF 25

***NOTE: I've decided to close this thread as many members may not understand what the "codes" mean here: they AREN'T the codes for UNLOCKING or REMOVING the restriction for your phones!!!

It's a friendly reminder for those of you regarding handset unlocking discussion in HowardForums.com. As we have sponsors / advertisers here to charge for unlocking service - for some models, topic as such is considered as a conflict of interest.

In case you have not read the RULES of HowardForums.com and the STICKY post in the Nokia forum, it has been clearly telling everyone that NO UNLOCKING topic is allowed:

http://www.howardforums.com/rules.php

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=120703

As for some newer Nokia GSM phones like the N and E series models, they're BB5 generation Nokia model that can yet to be unlocked by 3rd party. The "free unlock code calc" floating on the net are designed for DCT-3 and DCT-4 generation models won't work w/ the newer models. Someone claims to have success on certain earlier BB5 models like 6680 by the Dejan Kaljevic's solution, but definitely not the newer ones such as N95.

As for the Nokia CDMA phones, "unlocking" means obtaining the SPC and/or XTKSL from your provider. But, still, you'll need the right PRL for the right provider in order to make it work properly. Also, some providers WON'T allow phones from elsewhere to be activated.

As for some Nokia-branded CDMA phones like 6315i, many are made by Pantech or other OEMs. They aren't running on Nokia OS, the codes used to access certain special menus/functions are different.
