My screen goes white when my phone is opened sometimes preventing me from seeing who's callin, reading txts and so on. Also when its closed the LCD display doesn't come on. Is it the flex cable? Something I can fix on my own or do I need to bring it to a professional?

have you tried upgrading the phone software to the latest version?
