Why wont bit pim work with my moto V325I. any answers will help.
Posted by: Mark_Venture
Because the V325 is not natively supported by BitPim.
Brew limits prevent using BitPim's file system feature to access folders to add ring tones, picts, etc...
The BitPim developers don't have a V325 phone to experiment with, and try to add support to the program...
See BitPim.org for more info.

I know, I know, this is an old thread. I figured out how to add ringtones to my V325 via the file system in bitpim. I apologize if this is old news.
I browse to the /brew/mod/mobileim directory. You'll find a list of IM sounds. Right click on one of the .mid fiiles and save it the file to your computer for future use. Then I right click on the same file and choose Overwrite. I browse to the file I wish to load, and now that particular sound will have the same name as the original file on the phone. Then change your ringer sound to that particular name. It worked great!!

You can also do it in the /brew/mod/syncom2/msging/i folder, provided you have at least one pix message with a sound in your inbox. Each message is in a numbered folder, browse these to find your existing sound file. (If you don't have one, record a sound and send it to yourself.)
Right click the sound file you want to replace, and select overwrite.
Then, go into your inbox (using the phone now, not Bitpim) and open that message. Your new sound should play! Right soft key, select save as ringtone. Be sure to rename it and include .mp3 in the file name. The phone will save it as .mp3.qcp but that's okay. For some strange reason if you don't include the .mp3 the volume control won't work on your ringtone.
Also, if you care more about volume than quality (I work in construction), use a .qcp file from the start. They are way louder.
Glad to see somebody else still cares about the v325i.

Oops, Roy, I see you're on a v325. I'm on a v325i. Mine doesn't have a mobileim directory. It does have the mobileim files in a directory called 4792 or something, and guess what? THEY'RE LOCKED!! So my method may not work for you and yours certainly won't work for me. Oh well. It was fun though.
