Dash (S620/621) Questions

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am looking into buying the Dash but I had a few questions before I make the splurge.

1. How is the WiFi? I plan to ask my network to ban me from their data network, so I will only be relying on the phone's WiFi capabilities.

2. Will I be able to use MSN? Like, from my phone to someone who's using MSN on their computer

3. How have you found the keypad? Is it easy to type? (obviously this depends, but I want to hear opinions because if not I may get the Vox instead)

4. What programs come with it? Will I be able to edit Word documents?

5. How do I sync it up with my computer? Does it have its own software (like the Blackberry) or just with outlook (I don't use outlook and the one I have is old so it may be a problem)

1) Wi-Fi is good for the most part. I disable data on my account as well and only use Wi-Fi.

2) Yes.

3)It is pretty good. The buttons are are nicely sized and placed

4) Not many preinstalled apps or programs come with it. The preinstalled software only lets you view Word documents but no edit. You can install apps that will let you edit it as well.

5)You need outlook to sync contacts, calendar, tasks, etc.

if you have WM6 installed, it lets you edit Word docs on the Dash

Thanks for replying..do you know what the oldest version of Outlook it accepts? I have Outlook 2002. Also, how much is it to buy the programs or update to WM6?

Outlook 2002 should work fine. As for WM6 update, it available free for T-Mobile Dash version of the phone. There is not official release yet for S620 or S621 variant.

Awesome, thanks! Cause when I tried to sync my contacts onto my iPod my outlook was outdated for that. Seems like I will be making a purchase soon..I can't wait to upgrade from my crummy V220!!
