yea what carrier can you use this phone on and do you just swap sim card or something?

I saw "late August or September" on an AT&T thread somewhere.

The GSM is quad-band so the phone will work on any GSM carrier worldwide. I am not sure, though about the 3G implementation. Definitely will work on what AT&T has in the USA, but I am not sure about T-Mob.

Unlocked Kaiser will start in the $800+ range and hopefully drop from there on. But it'll stay well in the $700's for a while.

I talked to a VERY hot HTC rep

and she had the phone with her showing off to the staff at an AT&T store. I wanted to chat with her about the Cavalier but we ended up talking about the 8925. She said September for a release. I didn't get too much time to play with it but I will say the slide seemed to slide open very smoothly and had a very positive action and also locked well once opened.

T-mobile Germany is getting it already in August end, so I presume thats when we'd see the unlocked version as well. And someone provided a link here, it doesnt exist anymore.

For a current AT&T subscriber with no upgrade eligibility do you think there would be any advantage to going with the AT&T Kaiser vs. a generic unlocked one? I am looking to get into the smart phone scene. Does anybody recall what happened to the price of the 8125 when the 8525 came out? I am thinking about getting an 8525 when the 8925 comes out IF there is a big price drop in the 8525... If not I will bite the bullet and pickup the 8925.

I don't think the 8125 dropped that much... used ebay prices will drop significantly

Well I just bought 2 8525's on premier...

If the price goes down within a month, I can get refunded, right!? If so, I REALLY hope the "tilt" comes out soon, lol. I ordered the phones on the 6th....

i would wait for the kaiser to come out for a while and let people in dept review it first... you dont wanna haste and buy a phone that will have bugs... but think about it this way... if it come it for a month at least you will have a chance of the phones price going down LOL

I've emailed them twice, to get no reply whatsoever.

Definitely will not pre-order with them.

Yeah, I've seen they take pretty long replying back to an email I sent once upon a time. However, they usually pick up whenever you call em. 800-794-4656

Actually, I called them and someone did answer right away.
Their pre-order price is very tempting for me. $840CAD + $30s&h +(import rapage duties).
Only downside is that they use google checkout which will charge my cc right away.

Superiorgadgets just dropped the price recently. Still high for me. $902CAD+tax=$1028

E Gadget Depot is taking pre-orders and I am sure they will match any price you see elsewhere. I have used them for HTC phones and they were good.

I have used both of these sites before including Mobile Planet and Smart Mobile Gadgets. All gave me quality service and I would go through them again.

I personally think this phone will be delayed for a while, at least until the end of September / beginning of October. Well, that will still be better then the delay of the TyTN and 8525....

You can buy a Kaiser for $800 or you can buy a 13" MacBook for $300 more! (I cannot laugh since I just spent close to that on my latest phone).

i am sure that htc wants to get the best product to the market. many smartphones have been flawed when released---503g and the toshiba unit come to mind. htc probably wants to protect their rep.

I really don't have any issues with my 503g. I think I had more issues with my Touch honestly and the issue were more serious.
