Help! Double entries of contacts

Just bought a RAZR V3i and copied all my Sim contacts to the phone. However the Phonebook shows double entries of every contact for both Phone and Sim. I cant find a way to set the phonebook to view phone entries only.

I have searched forums and gone through every menu but cant find an option to just list contacts stored on the phone. I've gone through every option in the phone - am i missing something?

I want to use all the phone features for my contacts and have them backed up on the sim as well in case the phone breaks.

Is it possible to do this? Seems a bit odd if you cant, so it must be me!!

you would have to have the sim contacts deleted. this can be easily achieved and fast by placing the sim into anohter phone, preferrably nokia and deliting all sim contacts. in the v3i you have to delete them 1 by one.

Kinda crazy to delete all my contacts from my SIM. Essential to have as backup in case the phone dies. Amazing it hasnt got a facility to do this.

however, i did manage to find a laborious way around it. I copied all entries to phone, then painfully one by one changed each Phone contact's category to Personal - then chose to display only the Personal contacts.

I feel this is a big drawback to this phone which is otherwise very nice. Also didnt come with a CD so cant use the USB lead to back up with (PC is not blue toothed).

Thanks anyway and i hope the solution which i mentioned above helps others if they havent thought of it already!!
