Trouble synchronizing to two machines

This was something I did with my Windows Mobile device and was hoping to find a way to do it with my Blackberry.
My work Blackberry is configured by the IT people to do its synchronization to the Enterprise Server wirelessly. I like having backup of my Calendar, Contacts Notes, and Tasks available on my home computer also.
Before I would just synch my smartphone at the office and then synch it at home. Unfortunately they have decided hooking up personal devices, like my smartphone, to the network isn't allowable anymore for network security.
I tried installing the Blackberry Desktop software onto my home computer to see if I could do a Blackberry -> Desktop one way export synch. However when I try to do that it says it can't because my device is set up to synch wirelessly. Is there anyway for me to get that information back to my desktop?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)
Sounds like there is an IT policy in place preventing this.
There is no need to backup your device, as its already backed up on the BES.

I wasn't really doin it for the backup feature... I was just trying to get my calendar and contacts onto my home computer (and subsequently sync then over to my personal windows smartphone) for those times I don't want to be lugging my blackberry around. Typically I have my work blackberry with me at all times but there are some times I just want to not carry it around on my off time, but still find myself needing to be able to reach work contacts and check my schedule.
Had hoped by synching my work blackberry to the home machine I could keep that close to up to date with my BES server, and subsequently keep my personal phone relatively up to date.

All you need to do is temporarily turn off the wireless sync option on your blackberry for your calendar and address book and it will allow you to sync on the 2nd computer. Just turn it back on after you complete the sync and you are in business. I started to do this a couple of weeks ago to give my wife visibility to my work calendar and it works like a charm.

What ever application you are using MS Exchange, Groupwise, or Notes you should be able to export your contacts to a file and take it home with you.
