I know theyre basically the same company, but i was thinkin if i should just purchase a really hooked up Accord with like leather seats, Navi and the works, or go get a standard Acura TL? would it just be the same in the end?

both nice cars but IMO Acura TL (the new style ones) > Accord in everything and arent teh same

What year of the TL? Dont get anything below 04. To many Tranny problems. I would take a TL over a honda branded car.

Go for the Honda Accord EX-V6 MT. Beautiful car. I real sleeper. No one expects an Accord to be fast, but with the 6spd it is very nice. Plus, the Navi and tech is all the same between the two. The TL is nice, but not worth the extra cost given the Accords already stellar driving dynamics.

Hooked up accord.

get the accord

Get the TL. The rear seats are really comfy. I would only consider the accord if it is from the last 2 years with updated lights. The 03-04 accord is the ugliest car I have ever seen.

I am a big fan of the Acura TL-S 6MT. As someone else has mentioned, the auto tranny on the TL isn't very reliable at all. It's like someone strapped a time-bomb to the side of the tranny and you're just waiting for it to blow. Most auto TL owners that I know of are either on their second or their third replacement transmissions and they're under 150k miles.

The 6 speed manual tranny is the way to go.
