ive been tinkering with my sony ericsson k810i, and its a GREAT phone and i love the camera, but sometimes i just want better web browsing. of course i need to get a smartphone/pda of some sort and was think about the iphone. many reveiws say to wait for version 1.1 or a software upgrade. if i were to get one now, could i still upgrade the software? or do i literally have to wait for a newer iphone. and can anybody in the los angeles area give input on edge speed. im mostly in the palos verdes/torrance area. and how come so many people get the 8gig, is it simply just for more storage. ive been using 512mb memory cards and find it enough. so would 4gb be enough?

I say if you want to serf the net buy a lap top, the iPhone is a great toy I love it but look at it as an ipod with high fitures plus some phone ability,
then you not going to be disapointed.
when is the next vertion? it's speculation, I like to injoe the iPone NOW it the upgreat come? if at all. if it will be software so it easy,
if it hardware so I will buy it too.

The iPhone is stellar for web browsing given the form factor and product class. Safari's page rendering is far ahead of practically all of the other cell/PDA/smartphone browsers. Safari and the large touchscreen make an excellent combination.

You will be able to upgrade the software whenever Apple gets around to releasing an update. There are no worries on that front.

8GB is preferable for storage reasons. You will likely find that the user friendly software and interface will encourage you to use the multimedia features far more than you customarily would on the average phone. Space is not upgradable, so it's best to go with the most possible to avoid a tight situation down the line.

get the 8gb. That's all I am going to say. I got a 4gb and am kind of mad at myself. I got the 4gb because of money reasons, but if you have $600 just sitting around, get the 8gb. I think in the long run, you will be more happy with the 8gb
