Hey , I just got a Nextel i870 and I absolutely love the phone. I bought the data cable, and tried tethering today based on a couple threads I read.

The computer seems to talk the phone via the USB cable just fine. I can even go into HyperTerminal and talk back and forth verifying build date and software release....ect... but when i try to access a webpage it doesnt work...I have a full data plan on nextel...I cant quite seem to find a lot of info on how to make this work although i have seen a person on the street doing it and it worked...

any tutorials, clues around that i am missing?

Ok, update...can someone help me? I know there is some sort of internet connectivity here because it will resolve DNS entry's...

such as if i go to command prompt and type: PING http://www.google.com

it will resolve the IP address...

if i disconnect the phone it says the host cannot be found...

so, its definetly a hardware setting i think...any clue???

i tried this both with my i870 and my i710 with same result
