So to take my mind off certain events, I've decided to finally upgrade my computer. Here's what I currently have:

DFI LANPARTY UT SLI-DR
AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.6Ghz
2GB Corsair XMS DDR500 RAM
eVGA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM, WD 200GB, WD 320GB, WD 500GB, WD 500GB Ext.
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatality Pro
Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 THX
CoolerMaster CM Stacker w/600W OCZ GameXtreme PSU
Lite-On SH-16A7S SATA 16x DVD Writer
Sony Blu-Ray BWU-100A Burner
Dell 2407WFP 24" Widescreen LCD
Windows Vista Ultimate (legit)

Here's what I'm going to be upgrading to:

Intel Core2Quad Q6600:

Asus P5K Deluxe Mobo:

And finally Corsair 4GB XMS2 800:

Everything else I'm keeping the same. I'm waiting until July 22nd to get the CPU, as Intel is dropping the price from $533, to $266! I'll also be switching to Vista Ultimate x64 to take advantage of the 4Gigs This will be my updated system for Crysis and the likes Man I can't wait. I'm also going to try to hook up my water cooling system, due to the heat this summer.

Dude, I think you need more storage. Seriously.

Once the 1TB drives come a little down in price, I'm buying 2 I have maybe 200GB left out of all that space.

LOL same post twice? Mike delete this post if you can

I was kidding.

Uh oh, double post bug!

(I did mine on purpose to be funny and/or a jerk. Hee hee!)

So here's the finished product:

Not the prettiest thing in the world, but in all honesty, I'm not trying to impress anyone.

Looks like the f'ing bionic man!

Actually it looks like you are drinking kool aid through some super straw.

Congrats. I have a crappy Dell but my brother gave me his 22" monitor so I am happy with that.

Reminds me of the Nexus Core level in Quake 4! I expect to find the Makron hiding in there somewhere!

lol!

I have been thinking of upgrading my system also. Normally I would build my own, but this time I am thinking of ordering one online. Was thinking of getting a Dell XPS 710 but damn, they get expensive quick!

It's ALIVE!!!!

I just got a Dell the other day, but it's nothing spectacular: Athlon X2 64 @ 2.1Ghz & 2GB RAM. It wouldn't normally be too impressive, but I got that and a 19" widescreen LCD for $470! Then I installed a ATI FireGL graphics adapter and a larger HD.

I was running my SBS 2003 server on an old, out-of-warranty P4 (which was on its last leg) so I decided it was time to upgrade. When I saw this deal, I jumped on it. (And since it's just me and my GF that uses the machine for file/print sharing, email, etc. I thought a lower-end machine would suffice. And it did.)

I had to get another desktop for a sort of spare/guest/game machine... didn't want to spend much, but wanted to max out my bang for the buck. The guys at FatWallet helped a lot:

AST180 (Athlon X2 4000, 1GB RAM, 250GB) for $235
2GB of HP Ram for $50
BFG GeForce 7900 GS for $150
Soyo 24" wide for $300 (I'm going to use that, and put a Sammy 19" with the new rig)

Pretty frickin' great for less than $800!!!

OK I will admit I am not as computer literate as you guys , so I have a question is there something like pocket mechanic and/or oxios hibernate for my PC ?? I am using XP home edition , basically all I want to do is be sure to delete all of the registry crap that a lot of app leave behind when you unistall and also to see if I could optimize (with one or two clicks for RAM purposes)
