I can't find a htc charger anywhere but the blackberry mini usb fits, can I safely charge my htc hermes with the blackberry charger?

Yes, there should be no problem using the blackberry data cable/wall charger to charge any other mini-universal bus. I used to use my blackberry charger for my D@SH.

note: you cant charge your HTC in a car without turning the phone off first. meaning the screen is off, not in dim mode. weird.

What, are you serious you have to turn your 8525 off to charge in the car?
No way.
That could be a show stopper for me because this battery SUCKS!

well thats the way it works for me. the orange charging led wont come on unless the screen is off. its the same when i usea a 120V to USB converter. kinda lame. the OEM HTC charger for home use, works just fine when the screen is on. im stumped. where can u buy an OEM HTC car charger?

perhaps the OEM charger puts out more power?
