How to change text msg alert on 8525?

I searched but nothing is coming up, I dled an mp3 file to my phone...when I click the menu I can make it a ringtone but I want it to be my text msg alert. I found the "notify" wav file that is currently my text msg alert but I can't cut/delete it as to maybe replace it with my new mp3, any help?

Place the new mp3 into the Windows folder on your phone. After you do that, it will show up in the drop down for messages.

I tried that but only a few files show up, theres a whole bunch of wav/mp3 files in my windows folder but only certain ones show up for the text msg alert.

I converted it to a wav file and now it works.

yeah the phone will only read Wav files and MIDI files for the alerts other than the ringers...and they need to be placed in the windows folder on the phone...
