Motorola Krzr K1m vs. Razr V3m (Verizon)

I'm due for an upgrade of my phone. I have the Verzion "new every 2" upgrade, so I have a $100 credit to spend towards the discounted price of a new phone.
I don't use the phone for anything more than a phone and an alarm clock. But since my fiance lives in another state, I spend long hours on the phone pretty much every night (i.e. battery life is important).
From what I've read, the Krzr has better battery life than the Razr. But I'm a little worried about the durability of the Krzr - is it really made of glass? While the Razr seems to be made of metal. I'm not particularly tough on phones, but I throw it in my purse with keys, etc.
Looks alone, I'd probably pick the Razr. But I'd hate for the battery to die on my all the time.
ETA: don't wanna spend money on the phone, so anything over $100 is out
What do you think? Personal experiences? Please help, cause I can't seem to make up my mind.
