I'm looking for a phone to purchase later on this summer that has built in GPS. I know there's the blackberry's, but i don't want to have to shell out stupid amounts of money for the lame blackberry plans up here in canada that i'd hardly use. I've been considering the nokia 6110, but i personally think it's butt ugly. Is there any other good GPS quadband phones out there? Or would my best bet be to get a smartphone and use a bluetooth gps receiver?

You can go both ways, get a cheaper phone and add on GPS or get it built-in. I chose the latter, and bought the HTC P3300.
The comparable models to this would be ETEN X500, N95(although the GPS on it sucks), and I guess 6110.
I personally liked P3300 because it was compact and it was quadband. I dont use the data plans here in Canada because they cost an arm and a leg anyway, so having no 3G on my phone was no biggie.
Either way, get a phone/reciever which has Sirf Star III chipset or MTK chipset. Both are equally comparable.
