I recently purchased a lightly used 8525 and currently anxiously awaiting it's arrival. It should be here by the end of the week. That being said I have a couple of questions in regards to the 8525 as it compares to the 8125. First of all what is the maximum size of SD card the 8525 supports. Furthermore, since it takes the SD and the 8125 uses the mini SD can I use the mini adapter in the 8525? I'm not sure if the one I bought is the new ATT rom or still the Cingular rom. Assuming it's the Cingular rom, what is the link to download the ATT? This is assuming the WM6 rom isn't released in the next few days. |

HTCs site has a support page for the AT&T 8525, from there you can go to Software Updates and download the new ROM, this will update the branding as well (from Cingular to AT&T). Hope this helps. |

But I'm a little reluctant to load any of the cooked builds. I'm afraid of bricking my phone then being out the $500.00 to replace it. If I was single I might, but the wife might get a little upset at me for spending that kind of money. ![]() If I was a little more familiar with the "unlock" process also I might give it a try as well. I know that my current sim card will work in the 8525 but I recall seeing something in previous posts about a 3G Sim Card. Will my current sim allow me to take advantage of 3G speeds? I have my current 8125 overclocked to 221mhz and never had a single issue at that speed. Does the 8525 support overclocking and if so what's a "safe" speed to dial it up to? And finally is there a way to map Opera Mini to the browser soft button? Anything else I need to be aware of moving from the 8125? Thanks David |

If you do ever go for it, my suggestion is to read all the wiki and how to do's and familiarize yourself with all the lingo & pre-read the steps necessary. "Mr. Vanx" does an incredible job of laying it out for you step by step.

Here is something else to expect on the 8525: Playing games on it SUCKS compared to the 8125. The D pad is much harder to use, and a lot of times does not respond to inputs properly or has delayed inputs in game. I think it has to do something with the 8125 having a built in special graphics chip where as the 8525 doesn't. Even my NES emulator doesn't run great So if you played lots of games, prepare for frustration. |
