Wireless usb dongle won't work with MPT

I just purcahsed a blue solei usb dongle so that I didn't have to use the faulty cables anymore for my phone, but I can't anything working.
I installed everything with the usb dongle (had to get drivers off google) but the blue solei program seems to be working.
Is there any common reasons for MPT not detecting my phone or something else I should be doing to get them connected before MPT?
