Kyocera MARBL- Are new ringtones POSSIBLE?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Just got a new MARBL, and I must admit, it's a cheap phone.
It gets the job done as far as calls, but the fact that it only comes with 4 highly annoying ringtones is getting to me.
I've done some research and found that all the filetypes on my phone are .pmd, so I found a program that makes .pmds.
I try uploading the completed pmd to a wap site and the phone doesn't recognize it.

I didn't get a cable to do it directly, and I'm stuck on wap, which seems to be my only hope.

And now, since I've finally found a Kyocera board, I may just be able to get some answers.
Please help!

Yeah Virgin Mobile's phones kinda suck, theyre really low featured. But whats your question?

I'm trying to figure out how to get my .wav sound file to my phone for use as a ringtone.

Question form: Can anyone tell me how to get my own ringtones on to my cheap phone?

Download one from VM's website. And since its a real music ringtone, find out what the file extension is and where the file goes. Then just do that with the rest of your ringtones.

I didn't want to download one. I wanted to add a pre-existing sound I have on my computer to my phone.

I believe VM has that locked down, if I'm incorrent however, even still it can only be done via cable or bluetooth

Sorry to bump, but I think I've gotten somewhere with new ringtones on a MARBL.

I've also gotten the file to PMD format, and uploaded it to my webspace. However, when I go to download it, the phone freezes and then reboots. When that happened before on my lost SwitchBack, I was attempting to download an MP3 file that was too large. This can't be the case, though, as my PMD file is a mere 26KB. I'm thinking I've got the wrong format or something.

I have an idea; can someone with a data cable and any other VM phone send me a PMD ringtone so I can see what format it is? Also, can someone access their messages via BitPim and perhaps get the format of a Virgin Alert? Since the thing downloads ringtones or graphics you pay for and then recieve an alert for, what if someone spoofed an alert and then sent it to themselves?

Bump.

Again, can anyone get me a PMD ringtone and the raw data of a Virgin Alert? I want to know if the phone only downloads from Virgin's servers, or if it will download if you open the link via an alert (as if you bought one normally). If the latter is true, I'd also like to see if it would be at all possible to spoof an alert.
