first HTC phone - Wing - have questions

hey everyone this is my first windows/HTC phone and it's the tmobile wing. i have a few quick questions that are probably followed by a lot more...

1. is there any shortcut to lock the phone without having to press the lock button?
2. is there anyway to get rid of t-zones? when i try to get rid of it from menu it says it's not allowed
3. is there a way i can change the calendar shortcut on main screen?
4. my alarm clock is not repeating itself. i set it as repeat sound but it's not doing it. any ideas?
5. where should i go to download more apps/games?
6. will the screen ever go black? if the phone is idling the brightness just turns off but all my old phones it would turn black

//EDIT: 7. i'm trying to install the software and it says i don't have a correct version of flash installed but i do. uninstall, reinstall, install, still doesn't work

1. Hold the hang up button
2. use your file browser and delete the winwap shortcut from /windows/start menu
3. there are some 3rd party apps that do that, I think, it never bothered me so I never looked for a solution
4. sorry, no idea why its not repeating
5. there are a ton of websites with stuff, google ppc software (or windows mobile software).
6. start - settings - system - backlight - battery power
tick the box marked "Turn off backlight if device is not used for" and then select a time from the drop down.
or just press the power button briefly (if you hold it a pop up asking you if you're sure you want to power down will appear).
7. What software? I haven't come across any software that requires flash. What version of flash do you have?

i can't solve number 2. i can't delete t-zones from the tray icon. i already editted the registry but nothing. used the regs here

Did you delete the right item?

I assume that you are talking about how the light when never go dim when it is charging? if so, than I have found nothing to solve that except a tap of the power mode to make it sleep like stated above.

I just got my wing yesterday. I really like the myfav application on the home screen on my friend's wing. but I've been with t mobile for years now so if i change my plan, it will cost me alot more per month.
so is there a way to unlock the myfav application. is there a way to use the application without myfav on you plan. I dont care about free calling to five numbers. I just want the application.

there is no way to have myfaves interface on the phone unless you are on a myfaves plan. it is something that comes through OTA when your plan is switched to a myfaves plan.
i guess i'd just try setting up speed dial for quicker dialing or something like that. or change your plan. if you're on a myfaves individual plan you can get unlimited messaging for 9.99/mo as opposed to 14.99 a month on non-myF plans.

you can use spb shell. it has a pictue autodialer. but your contacts need to be saved under an outlook contact

Hello Howard's,

Just saying hello. I'd been hunting the web trying to figure out a next phone. When I stumbled onto this helpful site and saw some of your comments and suggestions it cleared my head. It's always nice to find some active and knowledgeable community. I guess I'll order my Wing tomorrow.
