Motorola V3m issues with iSync (Mac OS)

Howdy. I'm new to the cell phone generation, but I've fairly experienced when it comes to troubleshooting technology. Also, I've searched the entire web reading up on the related problems here. I'm hoping someone else has run across this, but also hoping to provide some therapy for others that have run into my same problems.

Phone: Motorola V3m
Service: Verizon
OS: Mac OS 10.4.10
Problem: Getting iSync to work with the V3m

I'm pretty torqued off about the bluetooth issues with Verizon, but I'm over it. I can live with using the mini-USB cable to get the phone to connect with my computer.

Issue 1: iSync sees my phone as a V3c instead of a V3m. I found another user out there on the web with the same problem. You can read about that here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread...949000&tstart=0
The V3c won't allow syncing through iSync with the calendar.

Solution to Issue 1: I edited the MetaClasses.plist file deep in iSync. I changed the ability of the V3c phone property for calendar syncing from false to true.

Issue 2: Here's the real winner. This is just bizarre, but again I found someone else out there with the same problem.

I faked it into allowing syncing with iCal, but after I check sync calendar box for syncing iSync says I have to open iCal. When I say OK the box becomes unchecked. Simply won't stay checked so I can't get the phone to sync with iCal. Bizarre.

I'll keep working the problem. If I find a solution I promise to post answers here.

Bought a USB cable from Motorola to see if that made a difference. No soup. Still the same problems.

I have a V3m and a 7 year old imac G3.

I've had isync work with the phone pretty much perfectly. Last night I tried to set up bluetooth with my brand new 24" imac. I opened isync and it said "phone does not have calendar support" or something like that. Also the picture of the phone was black instead of silver. The title is non specific. It just says Motorola Phone. There is no V3(whatever).

Anyway, I hooked up my old computer and found the Motorola Phone folder in Library/Phones and just copied it onto the new imac. Worked great. I didn't even need to set up the bluetooth again. It just worked.

It may have something to do with the intel processor. Or maybe it worked with 10.4.whatever and when you system update you lose it. Might be worth a try to go backwards and try to pair it up. Hope this helps.
