Just got a dash, need help with wifi.

hello all,
i just purchased a dash and im having problems connecting via wifi. I set it up but at the status, it says "connecting" and stays; sometimes it even says wrong password, but i typed in the right one. And when i turn off my password for my wireless, my status shows connected or "available" but my internet explorer still doesnt load anything? My aim works but i think its not connected through wifi. Am i getting charged for aim msgs as texting? Is there a way to set up the instant messaging to use wifi instead?
