Need Qwerty, GPS, Camera

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am trying to pick out a phone that has GPS, Qwerty, Camera, and Aim Client. Service provider does not matter to me nor does price.

Phones I am considering

Iphone (high price, waiting for 2.0 release)
Helio Ocean (...its Helio)
Mogul (Not a fan of Windows Mobile or Stylus)

I would really like GPS to be integrated like the new Blackberry's or the Helio Ocean, and Wifi would be nice but that might be getting a little too greedy.

Any Suggestions? I am hoping there is something new coming out that I haven't heard about yet

Motorola Q9h

(phone scoop is down at the moment)

I really like it, but I would prefer something without Windows Mobile or something with inegrated GPS, those are two big selling points for me.

I will consider it though

any other ideas?

If you have interest in the Helio Ocean call me at 303-587-5460 and I can let you know about some of the other stuff that we have just released and offer for it.....Trust me the Ocean is an amazing device and Helio is quickly becoming a more recognized provider and making a huge splash in the wireless pool!!

Also may want to consider Nokia e61i:

Doesn't have GPS but maybe you could get a bluetooth receiver for it.

Iphone? no chance with GPS on that unless apple magically unlocks features.

Hey there no need to get all bunched up like that, We finally launched the Microsoft Exchange that people have been asking about for a while and a killer new plan. UNLIMITED everything for $99

I'll also recommend the Nokia E90, as long as you don't care much about the weight of the phone.

Problem with the Blackberries given your requirements is that the BB8800 doesn't have a camera and the BB Curve doesn't have a GPS.

I actually really like the E90. It seems to be fairly feature rich, not so aesthetically pleasing but I could survive.

As far as the Blackberries go, If i could combine the curve and the 8820, I would be set for life I think

Does anyone know what non-windows mobile phones have the best web browsing capabilities (java, videos, facebook, flickr)

Youtube is a suprisingly good way to research phones. Thats where I found the Helio Ocean

One more vote for the E90 here... Fits your description list perfectly... And to say it seems "pretty" feature rich, is like saying Everest seems "pretty" tall. Its one of the highest spec'd phones in the whole world.
Minuses for the E90 are the size, no 3.5mm jack, and no TV out.

Good luck with your phone search... Buying phones is so much fun

The E90 is good....if you're looking to spend $1000 on a phone, which most people aren't. I'm voting for the ocean.

Good choice. I got mine a month ago and it's been amazing. Plus, as of last night, the first "custom" jave app was enabled. More will follow.

I had concerns about the 'device' and company, but those have been easily dispelled since joining.

Head over to the Helio forum and/or heliocity.net for info on all things Helio.

I was looking at the ocean, especially with the current $99/month deal from helio, but it doesn't look like there is an ssh client for it (unlike the Sidekick, BB, Windows Mobile, Symbian). That's a deal breaker for me. Is there one?

Yes there is ssh as of today. Somebody at heliocity.net did it today. Looks like lots of mobile java apps will be ported in the near future.
