Buying used iPhone from eBay, a few questions.

I keep hearing that if you purchase a used iPhone, the phone features are useless because it's "registered" and can only be used by the original person who activated it. Is this true? Thanks.

Not true, I had a 4 gb registered to myself - gave it to my mother and bought an new 8gb for myself. You just have to go to an AT&T store and get a new sim card and go through the activation process all over again.
