Dead Iphone

But its only been a month!!! So usually I use an upstairs outlet to charge my phone. However since I was sleeping downstairs I unplugged it and attempted to charge in the tv room. However when plugging it in there was no response whatsover. At the end of the day I tried plugging it into computers, doesn't work either. It says charging... for 5 minutes and then will stop when the battery gets to around 5-10%. Whats strange is that there's something wrong with both the phone and charger. When my dad tries to charge his iphone on my charger it has no response. His phone on his charger works fine. So when I try my phone on his charger, again, it only charges up to 5%. Is the only thing I can do is send it in?

were there any thunderstorms? Sounds like u might have had a power surge
