New PDA phone...buy now or wait?

I've been in the telephone dark ages for a while now and I want to get something new and fancy. I'm thinking I want windows mobile for business purposes / GPS / etc.

Should I get something like the 8525 now? Or wait for the kaiser or something else?

Carrier isn't that important to me, as work pays for the service, i just pay for the phone.

If you feel like shelling out close to $800 plus for the Kaiser, wait for it. Otherwise get the 8525 and pair it with a gps reciever.

If you going for a business device,the BB is the best out there.

You should be very concerned about the carrier and that should be the 1st decision to make. If you don't have service when and where you need it (where you live, work, travel, play, etc.) then no matter which phone you have, it is pretty much worthless. All carriers have gaps in service so you need to pick that first then the device.

If your company uses Verizon or Sprint, then you don't want a GSM phone. Or if they use ATT/Tmobile, you don't want a CDMA device.

$800 for kaiser? Even with a contract?
I dont' want to have to wait 5 months for a new phone. Does august sound like a resonable timeframe or is it more likely 2008?

I have a BT GPS receiver right now that i've been using with my Axim. I don't think that my company will pay for a blackberry but I should doublecheck. My impressions of BB from what my friends have said is that it is more work than play... I would rather go with a Windows Mobile phone which would allow me to run more apps like TomTom.

I'll probably have to go with AT&T because thats the primary carrier for my business, but it really doesn't matter. I get all carriers at home, and i travel for work.

Like i said, you can get the 8525 for cheap from AT&T while Kaiser will require shelling out alota cash.
WM devices are easily moddable, but not as stable.
Have you looked at Nokia E90?
Run's Symbian OS which is pretty solid, however the GPS on it doesnt give you voice guided directions but it's got an amazing secondary screen, QWERTY keypad and 3.2mp cam with AF. It's in the same price range as the Kaiser and spe'cs wise similar.

I'm like you though, I purchased a WM device solely because of the limitless options and apps on it and I use TomTom6 with the built-in GPS for my phone as well.

I just returned to the U.S. and need to get a provider and phone for business ASAP. I want to use WM6 but the sales people I've talked to don't know much about it. I don't want to sign a contract with a company that doesn't have much or any choice for WM6 phones/pda's. An AT&T store owner told me that current screen resolution is not enough for 6 so the phones were sent back for a screen upgrade??? Any provider advice will help. My business takes me all around Southern California so coverage is prolly not a problem. Thanks

I don't know what that store owner is smoking but it must be something good. T-Mobile has upgraded the T-Mobile Dash (released almost a year ago) with WM6. Most if not all HTC phones have 64K colors/240x320 pixels screens and they have no problem with WM6.

Anyway I suggest the Cingular/AT&T 8525 for your need since it has HSDPA.
