HUGE problem with Pearl HELP! all contacts lost!!

Hey every one this is extremely urgent. I upgraded my firmware today to the latest firmware and every thing seemed to have gone fine until i saw my contact list had been erased!!! I did a back up before i upgraded and every time i try to restore it it says "Could not establish communications with device. A required application is missing from device".

Some one please help!

Can you try to go back to your old firmware and try to restore the contacts?

What external programs did you have installed on your BB before you wiped it?

If you're trying a complete restore of the backup, try the advanced button and only select the contacts database and see if it will restore. Can't tell you the exact steps, but I bet someone else will jump right in that knows them.

Also, you might need to upgrade your desktop manager. There was a version that would remove some things from the handheld. That might be the communication failure, trying to restore data for a non-existent program? So, maybe, upgrade DM, reload the OS, then try the restore.
