tap the power button on top briefly to lock the phone...

Yeah, just lock your phone before putting it away. It becomes second nature after awhile.

I accidentally called my mom and somehow went back to the menu and then instinctively pressed the lock button but somehow mashed the volumes on the side and it twitched out.
By this time I look at the phone, and I hear my mother on the line. DAMN YOU APPLE!

I sometimes make calls by accidient when I'm scrolling through my recent calls list.
