Is it possible to tether a BB on ATT's BB personal data plan?

or do I need to get the tether plan? which costs 2x more

trying to decide between iphone or a BB curve/pearl. and since in recent news, iphones can be tethered for only $60 a month, so I'm debating. need some help here! thx

No. It has to have the tethering plan or it simply does not work. However, the new BB tethering plan is $60 for BB as well.

yes but that's without voice. iphone's plan has both voice and data for $60. with a voice plan for the BB, it will come out to over $100

That's incorrect. I have a bb pearl and now a curve on at&t. all i did was download the at&t communication manager hook my phone up via usb and started the program. It was pretty easy and within a few min I was online. Yeah it was at edge speed but I was online.

so does it work for everyone? you have the att BB personal plan right?

yes the personal plan and it works fine for me.
