Why won't my BlackJack show the name of the person that send the SMS?

I unlocked my BlackJack and I'm currently using it in Beijing. The problem is that the name of the person that sends me the SMS is not displayed in the inbox directory. Only the numbers are showned and once I clicked on the message, then the name will be displayed. The odd thing is that only one of my contacts will have her name displayed for the messages that appears in my inbox. Can anyone here tell me how to fix this? I don't want to constantly click on the message to find out who sent the message to me.

the number that appears in the inbox should be typed in the same way in the contacts
if it has the + then the + should be in your contacts. You should also always put the area code into your contacts, even if you are in the same area

I changed the number in the SMS to match the number in the contact list, but for some of the old SMS messages, the name still doesn't appear in the SMS.

Sounds like a number conflict. Are the contacts on your SIM or saved on your Phone. Perhaps there is a lag that causes the name not to show.

I'm assuming your using the i600?

I know different phones created for different areas setup their numbering scheme different (US vs Europe). Maybe your using a US phone overseas and the numbers aren't right.

Compare the names that ARE working with the ones that aren't. What is differences are in the numbers with the ones are are working vs the ones that aren't. See if you can find a pattern.

Sounds like your phonebook is not filled out properly.

In US, I have all my numbers XXX-YYY-ZZZZ. All numbers are the same, long distance and local numbers. All my names show up correctly. I do not have "+" or anything in my numbers.

I'm saving Chinese phone numbers. Also, I think I have entered the phone number properly as I use the exact number to call people. I'm using the same BJ as you are.
