I am getting a cell phone for the first time with Verizon Wireless and need advice on what phone to get.

Here is what I'm looking for:

- Good reception
- fast or at least good enough speed menus (not slow!)
- small size to fit into pocket
- no random buttons that would be pressed to start anything when I put it in my pocket
- good enough camera comparable to LG VX8300
- basic features such as address book, calender, to do list, calculator
- good enough battery life (but not terrible!)
- cheap price
- doesn't weigh too much

Are there any phones that fit my needs? I don't necessarily need all the other features such as web access, bluetooth or whatever , but having it wouldn't hurt, the only thing is I don't want to pay extra money for a phone because it has all those features.

well they are $9 after signing the 2 year contract and after a rebate. SAme goes for the other phones.

Do you think the Motorola's are any better than the LG's?

well i assumed you would be signing a contract...
and yes. i do. in my experience, motorolas have been better than most LGs in the reception department. i live in a very low signal area and while my motorolas connect fine, sometimes the LGs have trouble and dont connect and/or drop calls.
