I was wondering how can I update the drivers for my W810i for the camera?
Also which is the best?

Ok a tut here, do like this to update UR Camera driver

Take your SIM chip and MEMcard out of your phone.

First of all you'll need the FAR Manager program. Download and install version 1.70

Then you'll need the latest SE Flash Plugin for FAR Manager. Unzip the content to the ..\Program Files\Far\Plugins\ folder.
Credits to Darkmen for the plugin.

When you start FAR you'll get this screen:

You jump between the two file views using Tab.

Pressing Alt+F1 gives you this screen:

Select "SEFP" from the list to enter the phone. Make sure the phone is turned off and the DCU-60 cable is connected to the computer but NOT the phone.

Hit Enter and you're presented with this screen:

Make sure the settings match for the DCU-60 cable and Tab to "Enter The Matrix" and hit Enter.

You get this screen telling you what to do:

When the phone is detected you get this:

And you can release the "c" button.

The program connects to the phone and shows this screen:

Select FS (for filesystem) and hit Enter, and the program scrolls through some info and then you're in the root of the filesystem:

You now have full access to your phone's internal filesystem. You navigate through it similar to other text-based file managers. The left side of the screen will show SEFP (your phones filesystem), and the right side of the screen will show your computers local filesystem. Here's a short breakdown of commands: control-a to view file properties (check read-only status of a file before uploading, or check read-only status on phone), right click to highlight/unhighlight a file. Right click and drag to highlight/unhighlight multiple files. Left click drag to copy a file from sefp to your local computer. F5 to copy, F7 to create a folder, F8 to delete.

After that u come to this screen: Choose ifs

Choose settings after that

If u shall update camera drivers go to camera, if display choose display...
I shall describe camera now....

Copy the 'cameradriver0.dat' file to wherever u want to in your computer to make a backup. After that delete it from your Phone. Copy the NEW .dat file into where this one was...

The displaydriver works exatly the same do the same procedure as u did with the camera driver, but ofcource in the display folder. Audio, etc

To go backwards in farmanager press here:

Finally U arrive here
Press YES to finish

well...this method don't work for me either...
FAR is a mess if you ask me...wont even let me into the file system.

You need to re-write your first 5 blocks with an open-loader, if you look in the SEFP plugins folder, you have .SSW files; the corresponding w810 needs to be applied to overwrite the first 5 blocks to enable FAR to access the FS.

When you're done the modification, you reflash 344 blocks with your original closed-loader.

basically, you download the .rar file and extract it to you C drive, (what ever drive you have your OS running on)...there is a 'readme' folder with a total tutorial and programs and files you will need as long as you own your 810i....

Da_g's tutorial is for a whole 'OVERWRITE' of all your files once your in FAR, however if all you want to change is a driver here or there, then only mess with the one file like I explained above, then use his tutorial to 'finish'....be sure and do a 'Master-reset' of 'settings only' once you start your phone back up again....

you will be using PhoneXS along with FAR always....all those programs are in that RAR link.

Phillie, plz go back thru this whole thread real slow and read carefull....

your ATT phone is going to be just fine...I have an ATT/Cingular and it works fine.

IF, I say IF, you are using FAR to load and unload custom drivers, then you need to 1st flash with a 'PREP' SSW file, then do your customs, and CLOSE with flashing the MBN file to the phone...these are Cingular files basically.

Like I said b4, the instucts are found in Da_g's Readme and should be followed for everytime you want to use FAR to access your phone....

I spent like 4 days messing with this system....Da_g isn't 100% without variables...but his TUT is pretty close.

Sorry to ask but I connect my phone and far connects. But when I go into FS I get the same error as previous post. The previous post said to change some blocks. But I don't know how to do that. Can someone explain? I am using a Cingular W810I. Thanks

Hi there,

I updated my Camera drivers to Kriomag 21.8. Call me dumb but I dont know what settings to use?

1. Does Macro mode have to be on?
2. If Macro mode is on, the zoom doesnt work?
3. Quality on normal or fine?

Any help will be great. I read the readme file but I still dont get it.

macro mode is used while taking close up shots.
fine mode produces better quality pics, but slight movements make the pictures blurry.

Got it. How about night shots? I find that when I take night mode with Kriomag 21.8 it takes a long time to save the picture. Am I doing something wrong? Day mode is instant.

no, thats normal. usually it takes time to save pics in night mode. thats because it generates quality pics in poor lighting conditions. just make sure that camera does not shake or else the pics might get blurry.

I installed the kriomag 21.8 drivers and the quality of th pics has remained the same for me whether I turned macro on or off

did I do something wrong?is there a way to check that the drivers installed correctly? or did they get reflashed to the default ones when i reflashed the MAIN file?

you can check the driver by pressing >*<<*<* now select "software info" and scroll down. if the camera driver version s 21.8, then the driver has successfully been installed. but if it is 4.5, then its the original driver. no, they will not be changed if you flashed the main.

Hope you guys have heard that the W810 can now be patched with VKP patches, there are now dozens of such patches...

this is made possible by a program called SETool2 Lite.. it also lets you upload files quickly without messing with XS++ or FAR Manager anymore.

back to the topic though... give Sarmad 5.8 a try

My drivers are the ones that are based on the W810's stock driver and take advantage of the W810's better camera module capabilities (others like Kriomag are tailored for the K750/W800 audience)

here's the info... (main differences from 5.7 are better JPEG compression and quantizer settings, and disabled digital filtering for a cleaner sharper picture)

Can anyone assist me on this?
I just ran the entire FAR thing, got rid of the locks that cingular put on my 810i like setting ringtones etc. and it works fine. now im TRYING to go back in and change the camera driver to Sarmad's driver.

i know how to do this (or so i thought), but my phone wont stop connecting to file transfer mode. i get to the screen where there are two options on the left, FS and FLASH. it says ive already passed the first "hold in the c key and connect etc." screen once, but as soon as i double click on FS my phone automatically reboots into file transfer mode and FAR manager freezes. any ideas?

(somehow i have a feeling im missing something REALLY stupid.)

i just debranded my cingular-branded w810i using wotan server. i have the R4EK001 cid49 firmware. i am familiar with the da_g's method of getting the debranded features without debranding. so i am familiar with phonexs++ and far.

i am confused about where to start now that i have a debranded phone. any help is appreciated.

has anyone had any problems extracting the se plugins to the far plugins folder? for some reason it wont extract sefp.dll correctly. i keep getting an error message when i try to enter the matrix which leads to termination of far.

I have a quick question, but thanks for the tutorial.

Do i need to flash my phone in order to use this method of updating my cam drivers and sound drivers? I bought the phone already unbranded/unlocked. When im using the phones headphones, I cant hear the background music or voice if they have a soft beat or tempo. I can only hear the loud part. A quick reply would be apreocatd, I want to try this ASAP. TY =)

when i load up far and do the alt+f1 then try to choose sefp i get a "plugin call error" about some exception in the sefp.dll file in the sefp folder. whats going on? is there anyway around this?

yeah ive installed multiple versions and patches of sefp and none of them work, can i do this on a vista machine or does it have to be xp? i have some friends and i could try out their vista.

Sorry for bring up this thread again, but I only came upon the thread about this camera driver for the w810i. The pics look brilliant. I decided to try updating mine, however, I cant seem to find a site which still has the SE Flash Plugin available on it. Anyone any ideas.

you dont need FAR manager and SEFP anymore
now you do what you need with XS++ and be done much faster.

and read section V: XS++ - Flashing made VERY easy! of the first post read the method 2 for FSX. or better yet.. read the whole thing.
after you read that you'll know what to do and this is the directory in the phone and the file you need to change in case you didnt know already

/ifs/settings/camera/camdriver0.dat

i hope this helps at least a little.
