Samsung D807: text msg issues after unlock

Hi
About 8 or so months ago, i needed to unlock my phone since i was moving to india for a few months. Cingular wouldnt give me an unlock code (since i hadnt been a customer for long enough 
) , so i ended up using a technique i read online. It worked, and my phone worked perfectly while i was there. However, once i got back to the US, i noticed that i am now unable to send/receive text messages. Curious if anyone would have any insight.
My current text message settings (which i verified with a friend who also uses att):
Service Center: +13123149810
Default Destination: (blank)
