I am new to the LG ringtone application. I downloaded the BitPim and Audacity but haven't installed yet. waiting on cables from Ebay. I have read different questions about installing ringtones from the computer by way of a cable. But I haven't seen the answers just the post. I am one that needs practically step by step instructions. (VERIZON) is the Carrier.
On the LG 8100 there is an option for PC-Connection under the "Settings & Tools) icon. Under the PC Connection there is 1.USB, 2. RS-232C (ComPort),
3. Bluetooth, 4. Closed. Closed is the default.
What steps & settings do I take to do this after I install the two applications?
Is there any settings in the Hidden "System Services" That I have to change? One setting under No. 11. Music Settings:the MP3 is set at disabled.

My Wifes LG 8300 Doesn't have the PC-Connection Option under the "Settings & Tools". Just the option for Bluetooth. But in the Hidden "System Services" both the 8100 & 8300 have settings for Data>PortMap(data)>USB CD or UART1 or BLUETOOTH or NULL DEV. The LG 8100 is set at NULL DEV. The 8300 is set at BLUETOOTH.
The PortMap(Diag) the 8100 is set at UART1 and the 8300 is set at BLUETOOTH. From what I have read on some of the web sites The MP3 is to be enabled. Other than that I'm not sure what the other settings are going to have to be.
