What's the status of this device? I'm in the market for a Pearl, but if a Pearl 2 is coming out in the next month or so I'd wait for it.

Anyone have any word on when the successor is coming out, since it has been awhile since the Pearl was released.

No one has any exact information. Anything you hear right now is just speculation.

There are some significant rumors that the successors to Pearl, Curve, and 8800 are coming out very soon. I'd guess between a month to 2 months.

As you can see the only substantial upgrade in my opinion is WiFi or GPS to the various models. However, there are no rumors as to which model each carrier will be subsidizing.

There is also a CDMA Pearl 2 due for launch around chistmas in canada, the states will obviously see it a little sooner

Based on the BGR information and IMHO, the GSM version will have WiFi and UMA = TMO. The CDMA will have GPS = Sprint/VZW.

The BGR information looks like fall 07. Pure speculation but Oct/Nov is my guess.
