Question on BB Data Plan

For once someone is not asking how to screw the carrier on data.

I am probably going to have to move to a BlackBerry for work in a couple of weeks and will probably use one of the 8800 series devices. However, in my new role, I'll be demo'ing our company software for a number of different devices. 99.5% of the time I would be using the BlackBerry. And I'll probably go with the International Data plan as I'll be doing it all over the world.

So my real question would be, if I am on that plan, could I pop my sim out of the 8800 series BB and put it in my 8525 and use data for 3 or 4 mins? Same thing with my BlackJack? All I would really want to do is show that my software is running on these platforms and could access the internet. Would I need to install BlackBerry Connect on the PPC & Smartphone devices to make that happen? Or can I just set the network configurations to access the BlackBerry Access Point? I know the International plan does not include any teathering. But with an 8525 accessing the BB AP, wouldn't Internet sharing still work? Again, this is NOT to run a teather for hours at a time and violate the terms of my contract. It would be for just a couple of minutes here and there as a demo.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Wirelessly posted (Super-Awesome-Box-'O-Doom: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.8295/1690; en; U; ssr))

BB DSPs are only for BlackBerries. If you wanted to use that SIM on non-blackberry devices (BlackJack, Treos), you'll have to get another DSP for that provisioned on your line.

Since that SIM is from work, you probably won't be able to get it added on. Also, you cannot have a BB DSP with PDA DSPs nor regular phone data plans because they conflict. You more or less have to either choose a BB DSP, BBConnect DSP, or a mobile phone data.

I do not think you can have two SIM cards for the same number/line.

That would be cloning, and hence, illegal.

Where did you find / hear about the International Data plan? I only know TMO (for example) has the International email plan.
