Few Questions about HTC

It will be my first PDA ever and I am a little lost..

The main use I will do of my phone is, text (like crazy), take pictures and video and send them, look at some websites and make calls.

HTC S720 and HTC P4000 on Telus are the one I am interrested in. But I really don't know which seems the best for the use I would do with the phone.

I was with Amp'd mobile Canada but they closed and Telus are taking over our contracts.
With Amp'd I had a RAZR with Novarra, (something similar to opera mini) that would allow me to go on any website i want, the real ones with images and all..

Telus offers me the same plan I had with amp'd with internet but.... they only offer wap with a very limited list of site we can go to. And they blocked opera so theres no way i can go on the website i want with their phone.

They told me the only solution I had was to take a PDA if i wanted to go on normal site.

Thing is I am a little lost,

What does it means when it says Wifi Capable.. I know some coffee shops and fast food places offer wifi but i have no idea what it means when it comes to PDA.

Thank you

If it has Wifi, it simply means you can go to any hotspot and use their wifi for free/pay for it and surf the internet. WAP websites suck, but thats different. I'd go with P4000 only because it has built-in wifi, which means you can use Wireless internet without incurring data charges from Telus (assuming you find an unsecured/free hotspot).
Although S720 is compact and everything, If you dont plan on ever using Wifi (to check email, news, facebook? etc) I'd get S720, if you plan on using all that and dont want to pay for data, get the P4000. The only downside is, P4000 is much more wider and bulkier than S720.
Hope that helps.

The P4000 has a built in wifi card. If you went to a WiFi hotspot, you can turn on your WiFi and use that to get on the internet instead of your telphone's EVDO cellular data. There is a switch on the side of the P4000 to enable/disable the WiFi card.

Using your wifi doesn't incure any cellular data charges. Of course if you go to a non-free WiFi hotspot that requires you pre-pay then thats up to you. In essence, your P4000 wifi card is like having a notebook with wifi, just smaller, and runs Windows Mobile 6.

Using your cellular data will incure usage charges, which vary by plan. But I can tell you that data charges will go up quickly if you plan to surf sites like facebook. It's not unlimited.

With the P4000's Internet explorer you can go to most web sites, but I've found that Opera for Windows Mobile works better.

I have the P4000 and like it a lot. I highly suggest you get the free WM6 upgrade.

Maybe Telus will match Roger's unlimited data plan !
