So like half of the US my wife got addicted to text messaging.

She has Moto L6 now and when she used my 8525 to text some one she loved the qwerty keyboard.

So my question to you guys is this. What would you recommend as a regular phone with Camera and a Speaker phone with QWERTY keyboard

Thank you.

I'm still looking for a phone to meet this need. At&t doesn't carry any "normal" QWERTY phones. The only ones I know of are the Motorola A630 that you can buy unlocked or the Nokia 6820, but those phones are fairly old.

All the good QWERTY phones are WM.

Thank you for the reply

I guess I`ll have to wait for something to come along or get her a BJ

The Pantech Duo is coming out in the next month or so. It's basically AT&T's version of the Helio Ocean (made by Pantech), although it's rumored to be slimmer. It's also rumored to have Windows Mobile, though.

I agree that AT&T desperately needs a QWERTY non-smartphone. The closest thing they have is the BlackBerry Curve, which is definitely a smartphone, but a consumer-focused one. It's worth looking into if you want QWERTY without the hassles of Windows Mobile.

She may like the blackjack. While it's a smartphone, it's sort of in between a full WM5 PDA and a regular phone the way the UI is set up.
Still it's WM5 Smartphone edition, but presented in such a way that doesn't feel too much like a PDA.
But I agree they need a non-pda non-smartphone QWERTY just for people who want to text on a normal phone.

LG had one a while back...I think it was the F9200. That is another option...

The Motorola Q9 is coming soon. Again, its windows mobile, but its smartphone edition.

The E61 or E62 would be a great option since they run the symbian OS, which isnt buggy and laggy like the Windows Mobile OS. Symbian is the second best OS on a phone behind is the OS X on the iPhone

Another phone that she might like is the Nokia E70-2. It is basically an updated 6820 but its quiet expensive still.

See the problem is that those phone are still expinsive the e61 is about $350 new on ebay for what she`ll use the phone (phone call and txt) I dont think its worth it. The BJ is about 250$ but still. I was hopping to pay like 100$

Then get an E62. They are relativly inexpensive on ebay. I see them all the time with buy it nows of 129.99. They normally never sell for more then 150.00

If she wants it for texting, I am sure she can live without the wifi, which is what the E61 has over the E62

I recommend the Motola a630. Can be had for less then 100 on ebay and unlocked really easy online using one of the unlocking services advertised here on HOFO.

*Full size keyboard
*Camera
*Bluetooth

I second that. If she wants it just for texting then it's perfect. I have used an unlocked one and I actually liked it.
