i got in an accident last year and i got a misdeamor (criminal mischief 2 because i damaged public property) in my record. i was considering applying but i would like to know if this is gonna keep me from getting the job...any help would be appreciated

I don't think it would explicitly diaqualify you, but I seriosuly doubt it will help you any. Did you just take the conviction, or did you get deferred ajudication or something like that?

ya I didn't think that would really matter, I actually had an arrest for felony(their was no conviction) and was still offered employment. Severly doubt a misdemeanor will raise to much of a fus(depending on how long ago it was, what happend, etc.)

i was convicted of criminal destruction of property over 7 years ago and i was employed by cingular/AT&T for over 2 years now. those were my college days, to be drunk and destructive..............brings back memories.........

Whats the freaking big deal about misdemeanors, if you work for ATT you can easily get sucked into cramming/theft! ATT goes along with that!

I have a mis on my record, and I was hired. It was 6 years ago and it was an underage alcohol charge, but it was on there. I was two weeks away from being 21 and got popped at a party.

Yeah... Maybe I shoulda stopped talking to that girl and ran when everyone else started to.
