ok so I had the Cingular 8525 and my screen just recently started fading to white for no reason and they sent me a replacement, but the replacement was the new at&t 8525 and now I have no idea where to go to connect my computer as a Wireless modem
...this is frustrating b/c it was so simple on the cingular phone and now there's not even a WModem option on the new one. Can someone tell me how to use this phone as a modem via bluetooth and serial to my computer? mainly bluetooth though
I have a mac if that matters, but it shouldnt b/c I was able to bluetooth connect my mac last week when I had my cingular 8525 as well as my windows pc
now everytime I try to connect my comp to the phone it's saying Could not open the communication device or Network connection could not be established...
I WHOLLY think that it has to do with not having the WirelessModem program/option thing on this phone under Connections...thanks in advance yall!

There is no more Wireless Modem program. Find and use the Icon "Internet Sharing". Then pick the proper type of PC connection you want to use, and then tap on Connect in the lower left. Once it connects you then right click on your laptops bluetooth icon and use "Join a Bluetooth PAN network", and pick the one that says your phones name. I believe I had to setup Bluetooth between the two devices first before all of this, but once that is set up, these simple steps I just listed get you on-line right away.
For a cabled connection is works even easier. You use the phone and under PC Connections you pick USB, Then Connect using lower left tap, then you are online without doing anything on the laptop.
Good luck. Write Back if you can't get it. It really is better than the old way.
