Can anyone tell me if a Dutch Vodaphone sim card that's minutes all expired in March 2007 can be just topped up now or is it no longer valid and just needs to be thrown away? I tried to email or call Vodaphone but unless you have a valid Dutch phone number you can't talk to or email anyone. Since I am not in Holland now, I can't just go to the store.

Dank U wel.

I believe vodafone NL has this inane policy that any top up only extends the validity six months (it used to be a year) and after that they discontinue your service and steal your money.

It is interesting to note Vodafone DE had a similar policy and the German courts found it illegal and now they can't steal your money (they can suspend the number apparently but on request must reinstate it).

This is another area where the eu can be very consumer friendly and outlaw this practice but I think you're out of luck.
