Problem transferring video using ITunes

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have some video I encoded
480X320
MP4 format
H.264/AVC
AAC Audio

When I move it over to my Itunes it does not appear. It seems like the Itunes does not recognize the file. I am using what I believe are IPhone capable settings. Does anyone have any suggestions?

UPDATE

When I change the extension of the file to .3gp, ITunes will accept but will not transfer it to the IPhone because it says the IPhone will not play it. If I take the same file and change the extension back to .mp4, Itunes will not accept it.

It seems to have an error opening any of my files. I will try this the next time I come across this problem. In the meantime I will try to reencode the files again.

Try "add file to library" from the 'file' menu. Then click on 'movies' in the left pane. When you see the movie file there, highlight it and then click "Convert Selection for ipod" from the advanced" menu. Once this is done, click on your iphone in the left pane (to bring up the settings), click on the video tab, select the movie and 'sync' your phone. This should work.

RE-encoding has be necessary for me in the past but the other problem I've run into that wouldn't let me import files to the library was the filename length. This took a couple of minutes to figure out, but if the names are too long (I can't remember what the limit was, probably around 48 characters or so) try to shorten them and try again.

I just reencoded everything to .mov files and gave up. It works this way fine.
