Problem importing photos from Iphone to Iphoto

Okay, here's the deal: the photos that I import from the Iphone into Iphoto (happens automatically when I plug the Iphone into my Macbook) show up properly in Iphoto but do not show up properly when I send them to Myspace. The photos that I took with the Iphone sideways show up fine, but the ones taken vertically are rotated. I have already rebuilt my Iphoto database, rebuilt my thumbnails, etc. Why would they display properly in Iphoto and not anywhere else?
