8125 camera light stays on

I've got an 8125, and the camera's light stays on, even with the phone off, so long as the battery is in. This started after I walked into a lake with the 8125 in my pocket.

That seems to be the only permanent short from its swim. When I synch-ed it after drying out, it came back otherwise. AT&T said they do not know of a fix. Anyone know if I can disable the light? I'd be willing to lose the camera function too, if necessary.
