Active Sync - 8525 Contacts Issue

Hello,

I have scoured the forums, attempted everything they tell me, but I am stuck.

I have done the following:
1) Deleted all Active Sync profiles from my computer and 8525.
2) Have HARD reset the machine
3) Installed Active Sync 4.5

And no matter what, I can not sync my contacts from Outlook 2007 on my home computer. I select it in the sync when I set up my connection for the first time - but the 8525 has the option to sync contacts greyed out and unselected.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Is anything else syncing? Calendar? Notes?

Everything else is syncing. Email, Calendar, Files.

Here is what my 8525 shows on it's sync screen. File is attached.

I called tech support - they told me to exchange the phone. I had my wife try to sync today - same results.

I can't imagine how changing the phone would help. Don't want to waste a trip or the phone.

Have you deleted the "Windows PC" setting from your 8525? Doing that should have your PC start up the "Sync Wizard" again and allow you to pick what you want to sync to that device.

Yes I have deleted the profile, from both the 8525 and the Computer.

I have even hard reset the phone and started over that way.

Tried the same thing with my wife's 8525 and she has the same issue.

Howdy,

I got the issue solved. I called into Tech Support at HTC - and they told me the following:

1) Connect the device to the computer
2) Once the sync has completed - go to Tools>Options (on the active sync on the computer) and DESELECT all items.
3) Allow the phone to sync to nothing
3a) If it doesn't disconnect and reconnect and it will resync to nothing.(my phone needed this step, my wife's did not)
4) Go to Tools>Options and SELECT contacts
4a) At this point contacts should start syncing
5) Go to Tools>Options and SELECT the other items you want sync'd

All works fine - thanks for you help.
