Hi everyone.

I bought a Sony Ericsson K800i form eBay. It was working perfectly until today. This happened:

1) Noticed the "Picture message recieved" icon at the top and clicked "read"
2) Phone screen went white then turned itself off
3) I turned it on, it turned itself off again
4) I turned it on, briefly received a call, it turned itself off
5) Now, despite removing the battery and sim card it won't turn on no matter what.

Sim card works in other phones but other sim cards will not work in this one. I will leave the battery and sim card out overnight and check back here for replies in the morning.

Will that Wotanserver thing work? I've also noticed the acronym "EROM" during my research...? I do not have a USB cable or a warranty/guarantee.

Many thanks for any replies, really need my phone up and running asap.

what you've got there sounds like the "White Screen Of Death". There will be
manya post about WSOD. Basically though, it's reflash time. have a look at
wotanserver.com - all the software and info you need is there. It's quick and
mostly painless (depends on whether you have a phone book backup or not !)

When you try to turn it on, do the infared light flicker 8 times?
