Just on the tones I have sent to my phone - they are .mid files and I can hardly hear them! Volume on the general phone ring is maxxed out... But I can't hear these new guys. The stock rings are blasting away, but my add-ons are waaay to soft.

My phone is a LG VX5300

Any ideas?

Try some audio software to raise the volume.
Sony sound forge comes to mind .
Try that or go to download.com and look for others.

The same thing happens with my ring tones. I had installed some MP3 ringtones on my Motorola E816 and they worked great. I transfered the very same files to the VX5300 and the volume of them is very low.

www.GOLDWAVE.com EFFECT...VOLUME...CHANGE VOLUME. Save as type: .mp3 Attributes: layer-3 22050 Hz, 32 kbps MONO. Then change .mp3 to .qcp. There are many threads on this subject. SEARCH...

BitPim comes with a ring tone converter, and you can adjust the volume up by several decibels. Increasing by more than about 4 decibels distorts the sound, but 4 is usually enough.
