what are the other differences besides the pda personal plan having text messages? Does the PDA personal plan still allow you to access corporate servers/emails w/o any additional charges like the pda connect?

It does, no additional charges. The main difference is that the newer plan no longer allows access to isp.cingular, you're stuck with wap.cingular instead. So far though, I haven't noticed a performance decrease with wap. My email still pushes through fine as well.

Agreed, wap.cingular is all you need. The only thing you should ever need isp.cingular for is if you wanted to PPTP VPN (the type built in to MS windows.) Usually IPSec can work over wap.cingular.
isp.cingular, as you may know, is really intended for use with laptop tethering.
But push mail, tethering, corporate mail, everything all works just fine over wap.cingular (PDA personal plans.)
